INTRODUCTION:

Appointed as a Research Associate at The University of Tokyo, Department of Materials Engineering on Sep. 2002, after a 3.5 year work as a Research Associate at Cambridge University Engineering Department in the Mechanics and Materials Division. At 2006, promoted to lecture and currently holding associate professor position since 2010.

RESEARCH TOPICS :

On-going topics

  • Development of Si-O-Cx nano-composite negative electrodes for next generation lithium ion batteries (LIB) by plasma spray PVD
  • Development of high yield Si production (purification) route alternative to SIEMENS method (for bothLSI grade and solar grade)
  • Ultrafast & low temperature thin film deposition process by meso plasma CVD (for solar cells)
  • In situ characterization of nano-sized Si cluster formation during plasma CVD based on SAXS and WAXS
  • Fabrication of high sensitive and qick response semiconductor sensors (VOC gas detections)
